10 – An Example of Testifying

(Updated 14 Jan 2012)

Hello Everybody,

First and foremost please be assured that I am not setting myself up as the ultimate authority on effectively testifying before a committee. I am just sharing with you a typical example.
Since this was done long before I developed the OCL form, I populated the form after the fact, so it benefits from some 20-20 hindsight.

I recommend you proceed in this order

1.  hjr0025.intro

2.  HJR-25-FEY.rtf

3.   Written Testimony in Opposition to HJR 25

4.   OralTestimony in Opposition to HJR 25

5.  Sobriety Check Points.wma

As you listen to the verbal testimony you will see that I wandered back and forth between my verbal and written testimony. That will almost always happen as your thought process is affected by what you just heard. My verbal testimony mostly follows what I have writen, but it is crossed out, marked up, highlighted with notes and arrows point to a new order. Sometimes it is left in my pocket because of all the other testimonies before me.

This is not an exact science, it is subjective, it is colored by your upbringing, your like experiences

That is all for this session.

Questions, comments, critique get a hold of me.

Cheers,

Fred
