(Updated 14 Jan 2012)
This is to help us keep track of what is going on in Salem. Unless you already use RSS, it is more complex than we can effectively train here, but possibly in an upcoming training. For now let’s just look at eSubscribe:
Sign up to receive email alerts here:
https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/ORLEG/subscriber/new
Put in your email address, then a password if you wish, and finally select the committees and legislators you wish to keep track of and hit Submit. Personally, I subscribed to the publications, the house and senate judiciary and rules committees, and a couple of legislators including sens Kruse and Whitsett, who are the R’s on the Senate Judiciary committee. Once you have finished subscribing, you can go back to the link above, enter your login and on the page labeled “Quick Subscribe for <yourusername> there is a link near the top called “Access your subscriber preferences”. Click that and it will show you everything you are currently subscribed to. At the bottom of that page is a link called “View your personalized RSS Feed.” Click it! This will load a web page with the most up-to-date info from everything you selected. This is basically what RSS is – a single page you can go to, to read the most up to date stuff from pages you have subscribed to.
